Evergreen Opus-1 Unboxing

The Opus-1, from Japanese tackle giant Evergreen International, is the ultimate spinning reel for true enthusiasts and collectors. Sporting a street price of nearly $900 USD they don't skimp on any of the extras. This limited run reel comes with a nice aluminum case carrying case, two zippered pouches lined with a super soft material, and a full tool set complete with custom case. I've caught a pumpkinseed on a worm at Eglinton Flats, and a 12" largemouth using a red and white spoon. I caught the largie from the bridge. Another guy who fishes there says he catches plenty of black crappie there.

Very brave... I've bare-handed a few big skis and there's that moment while slipping into the plate that you know all hell could brake loose. Once you clamp on there's a sigh of relief, but respect. ;-)

The eglinton flats are full of sunfish and brownbull head. Supposedly there's a few carp and largemouth, but I've never caught any. I haven't fished there since I was a kid, but from what i remember, if you cast out a worm, you'll catch something!
