The hole you see here drilled in to the trigger is a big bait holder for your large musky lures. When I purchased the rod quite a few of the display models had their triggers broken off, probably due to dropping, so I ended up filing this hole with some bondo and created my own big bait holder.
The Pete Maina Signature Series, built by Bass Pro Shops, is a high quality set of Musky rods and reels. The reel (PMX3000MH) is extremely well built, and to me, feels just like the higher priced Shimano counterparts. The rod (PMX66MHT) is also very well built and comes with a weight system for achieving the perfect balance.
