I was lucky enough to spend his Thanksgiving for 2005 in Santa Cruz, a huge difference to the previous 11 months where he lived in Mexico. Staying at a friends house high in the California mountains I spent the majority of my time walking around in the woods and watching these wonderful Koi swimming around their little pond.
The Opus-1, from Japanese tackle giant Evergreen International, is the ultimate spinning reel for true enthusiasts and collectors. Sporting a street price of nearly $900 USD they don't skimp on any of the extras. This limited run reel comes with a nice aluminum case carrying case, two zippered pouches lined with a super soft material, and a full tool set complete with custom case. This photo set was submitted by Craig Thomasian.
This fishing charm, crafted in a Japanese fishing temple, was given to us by our favorite contributor Adam Guy.
The Pete Maina Signature Series, built by Bass Pro Shops, is a high quality set of Musky rods and reels. The reel (PMX3000MH) is extremely well built, and to me, feels just like the higher priced Shimano counterparts. The rod (PMX66MHT) is also very well built and comes with a weight system for achieving the perfect balance.

cam (3 days, 22 hours ago)The eglinton flats are full of sunfish and brownbull head. Supposedly there's a few carp and largemouth, but I've never caught any. I haven't fished there since I was a kid, but from what i remember, if you cast out a worm, you'll catch something!

Re: Koi Pond
Jonathon Marshall (1 week, 4 days ago)MIMI, I'm very sorry to hear about your missing Koi. Where exactly do you live? Have you considered that an animal, such as a raccoon, could be the culprit? I know that the person who built this Koi pond had some issues with them eating his fish.
Jonathon Marshall (1 week, 4 days ago)Sorry, but I've never fished that area.
