I bought this setup in 2004 when it was clear that Clive and I were getting in to some big pike and musky. These fish called for something with more backbone and power than your typical bass spinning gear.
I had the opportunity to go on a short charter fishing tour of the famous flats around Key West. I'd seen hours upon hours of Fishing The Flats on TV and now it was my chance to catch some of the species I'd seen.

The Loop Evotec CLW is made entirely from composite, except for the foot of the reel which is aluminum. The material feels very strong and yet it is extremely light. This model is the 8twelve and has 20# backing on the spool.
Also referred to as Leslie Street Spit this is one of the popular urban fishing destinations in Toronto. This man-made headland is about 5KM long and houses a number of inner and outer bays and long points. Some of the terrain is pretty rough, made from rubble and earth generated from various construction and demolition projects through out the city.

Andrew (1 week, 2 days ago)I acually do fish the Saint John River quite a bit, and have been lucky enough to catch a few strippers(20-24 inches) but they only run for a short period of time usually late july i believe, Shad also run through the river around this time of year, caught a 19 inch shad just the other day, nice fight!
